Jasper Schwampe is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Aarhus University, Denmark and a visiting PhD researcher at the Program on Order Conflict and Violence for the fall semester 2016. His doctoral research project focuses on the impact of foreign fighters on the internal dynamics of civil wars. During his time at Yale he plans to analyze freshly collected interview data on local pathways of micro-mobilization into foreign fighter groups during the Bosnian Civil War 1992-1995. Besides that, Jasper is interested in the fields of social movement, international relations, and terrorism research. Jasper holds a BA in Political Science and History from the University of Kiel, Germany and a MSc. Econ in International Relations from Aberystwyth University, Wales. Prior to coming to Yale he was also pre-doctoral fellow at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
