Daniel Fedorowycz
Daniel Fedorowycz is a doctoral candidate in Politics at the University of Oxford. He researches questions relating to the causes of violent ethnic conflict, with a particular emphasis on Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Using a mixed methods approach, Daniel’s dissertation examines the spatial variation of violence within ethnic conflicts by analyzing majority-minority ethnic group relations in the Polish-Ukrainian borderlands during World War II. Daniel holds a Master of Arts degree in European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (2011) and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree (2009) from the University of Toronto. He has been a visiting scholar at the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy (2007), University College London (2010), and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (2013). Prior to his studies at Oxford, Daniel worked at the NATO Information and Documentation Centre and the National Democratic Institute in Kyiv, Ukraine, as well as the Canadian Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands.
